Nature Play Week - Wed 6th to Sunday 17th April 2016
Embrace Nature Play Week across Victoria from Wednesday 6th to Sunday 17th April with a number of activities and events organised by Kids In Nature Network.
1. Zoos Victoria's School Holidays Program is embracing the outdoors with three outdoor play zones. Details here.
- Melbourne Zoo: sandpit in the natural play space
- Werribee Zoo: new prowl and pounce zone
- Healesville Sanctuary: new keeper kids outdoor play space
2. The Royal Botanic Gardens Victoria is running a special event on the 14th April at their Melbourne Gardens from 10am to 12noon at the Ian Potter Foundation Children's Garden and Oak Lawn. Children can float a boat in the rill, play in autumn leaves or build a cubby with bamboo. Details here.
3. The Royal Botanic Gardens Victoria is also running a special activity at their Cranbourne Gardens during Nature Play Week. Children can build their own bush bark shelter using natural bushland plant material. Decorate it with bark ribbons, furnish it with log seats and use it as a cubby house. Details here.
4. The Royal Botanic Gardens Victoria is running another special activity at their Cranbourne Gardens during Nature Play Week. Kids can reconnect with nature and the outdoors by ticking off the adventures in the ’50 things for kids to do’ checklist or borrowing a deck of the ‘Go find it’ cards and heading out into the garden to play.
