'Tyrannosaurs – Meet the Family' at Scienceworks

Get your little ones' dinosaur tails and roars ready for the NEW exhibition coming to Scienceworks on the 23rd of May! 'Tyrannosaurs - Meet the Family' is a fun, informative and interactive exhibition showcasing how the latest dinosaur discoveries have transformed our view of these fascinating ancient creatures.

Children can stand next to the 11 metre long skeleton of “Scotty” the Tyrannosaurus rex, the biggest, baddest predator that ever lived and see some cool shadows.

They can also gain insight into how a discovery at Dinosaur Cove may prove that tyrannosaurs lived and breathed in Victoria and how recent scientific findings confirm that modern day birds evolved from dinosaurs.

Little ones can view over 10 life-sized dinosaur skeletons and a range of fossil specimens which have helped piece together the revised tyrannosaurus family tree.

This exhibition will bring these ancient creatures to life with a Melbourne-first augmented reality experience which will allow children, parents and carers to personally interact with tyrannosaurs.

Interactions include a live video feed where children can interact and play with members of the tyrannosaur family, multi-touch technology allowing them to compare their arm strength to that of a mighty T. Rex as well as large-scale projections of dinosaurs running through the streets of Melbourne and more!

'Tyrannosaurs - Meet the Family' will be on at Scienceworks from the Saturday 23rd May till Sunday 4th October 2015. For more info click here.
