SciencePlay Kids classes are designed to encourage 4-12 yos to explore science in an accessible, tactile, hands-on way. Each class, run for around an hour, has 3 experiments/explorations that foster creative thinking, problem solving, questioning, observing, hypothesising and all things STEAM in a fun and MESSY way.
We are only running sessions in WEEK 1 this holiday. All sessions are the same topic, so you only need to come to one session.
Week 1: Bubbles
This extremely colourful class explores all things bubble. Bubbles provide the opportunity to study science concepts such as elasticity, surface tension, chemistry, light, and even geometry. You can engage in processes such as observation, experimentation, investigation and discovery, simply by playing with bubbles. There will be loads of water, loads of colours and lots of mess. Participants will blow bubbles, bounce bubbles, paint with bubbles and even make cube shaped bubbles. We'll even crack out the famous "Supersonic Bubble Maker" which makes bubble using gas from dry-ice sublimation! Oh yes, and we'll be making giant bubbles too!
PLEASE don't wear nice clothes as you will get colourful!! We provide labcoats and safety glasses for all our scientists to wear.
Come along and get your science on!!
