CERES Community Environment Park

CERES Community Environment Park in Brunswick East is a not for profit educational organisation located on 4 hectares of rehabilitated landfill.

On a nice day, you can wander the grounds with your little ones, have a look at the community gardens, the chickens, the café, the organic market and the nursery.

There are lots of beautiful chickens near the little pond. (Beware as the pond is not fenced). You can go closer to the area where the chickens are by walking down a set of stairs or coming from the back of the gardens. Little Miss and I loved the chickens there as well as those near the café.

We had the pram that day but because of the uneven grounds and rocks around the gardens, it made things a little difficult.

There are also lots of Isa brown laying hens located next to the organic café and market stall for little ones to peek at. The open café is kid friendly with diggers for children to play with lots of room for prams.

If you are into organic produce, there are organic fruit & vegetables available for purchase at the little market.

Checkout the nursery nearby if you are interested in bringing some seedlings or plants home to plant with your little ones.

CERES is open all week and entry is FREE. For more information and opening times, go to their website.
