Printmaking for Kids (9-12 years) at the Australian Museum

Join visual artist Leon Fernandes in this exciting and interactive workshop designed for kids aged 9 to 12, where they will get the chance to explore the fascinating world of printmaking.

Drawing inspiration from the new Barka exhibition and the incredible works of Uncle Badger Bates, young artists will have the opportunity to experiment with various techniques and materials, including monoprints and layered prints. They will also learn how to carve drawings into foam and use unique tools to create intricate designs.

With Leon's guidance, children will learn how to layer their prints and create stunning artwork that showcases their creativity and imagination. They will discover the magic of the printmaking process, from carving their designs to pulling the ink and seeing their artwork come to life.

This workshop is the perfect way for children to develop their artistic skills and explore their creativity in a fun and engaging environment.

Note: Please bring or wear an old shirt that you’re okay with getting paint on.
