The Moon Festival is also known as Mid-Autumn Festival is the second grandest festival in China after the Lunar New Year. It is celebrated on the 15th day of the 8th lunar month, which is always in the middle of the autumn season in China.
At this time of the year the moon is believed to be at its fullest and brightest. In Chinese culture the full moon symbolises reunion so families reunite for celebrations to worship and appreciate the moon together, and share mooncakes to celebrate.
Reconnect with friends and family to honour the Moon Festival in the Chinese Garden of Friendship. Explore the Garden after dark and marvel at the moon, indulge in delicious mooncakes and unravel secret lantern riddles!
In Darling Square be immersed in a world of colour as you dine and dance amongst hundreds of lanterns. Taste the traditional flavours of the festival, taking home Moon Cakes to share with your loved ones. Get up and groove with DJs and traditional Chinese entertainment.
