Spring school holidays at the Museum of Contemporary Art Australia

  • Museum of Contemporary Art Australia (map)

We're inviting families to play with the possibilities of art, sound and music. Use everyday objects and recording equipment to create your very own sound-based artwork.

This school holiday program is inspired by Waters' Witness by Lebanese artist and composer Tarek Atoui. Known for his collaborative performances and installations using handcrafted musical instruments, Atoui creates compositions that direct sound through organic materials.

Sensory-friendly session: Friday 30 September 10am–12pm

At the MCA, we believe that art is for everyone. Our sensory-friendly sessions offer the same adventure described above, with the following changes:

  • Visitors will be asked to be mindful of each other's experience when arriving

  • Music and noise volume is lowered

  • Lights and equipment are reduced, to create a calmer space

  • Extra chill-out space for all families

  • Extra MCA Staff to support everyone

  • Extra space and time to take part at your own pace

Read our Visual Story on how to access the MCA.

This is a free, drop-in program.
