REVIEWED
#Sydney REVIEW – And Then There Were None at Theatre Royal Sydney. We had such a special opening night last night at the Theatre Royal Sydney for the outstanding psychological thriller And Then There Were None Australia!
From the producers of the hugely successful Agatha Christie’s The Mousetrap, this is a brand-new production of the best-selling crime novel of all time. Ten strangers are lured to a solitary mansion on an island off the English coast. When a storm cuts them off from the mainland, the true reason for their presence on the island becomes horribly clear.
We were instantly captivated as the curtain rose, the stage transported us to another era. The cast was outstanding, their performance, their demeanour, individual characteristics and quirks and accents. How tremendous it was! They kept us guessing, our minds racing right until the very end - oh my - pure brilliance!
I was especially captivated by: Mira Morrissey as Vera Claythorne – powerful, chilling and complex. Tom Stokes as Philip Lombard – charismatic and enigmatic. Peter O’Brien as William Blore – memorably quirky. Jennifer Flowers as Emily Brent – eerily poignant. Anthony Phelan as Sir Lawrence Wargrave – very commanding. And how fantastic to see Nicholas Hammond as General Mackenzie (thank you @chamellephoto, for pointing it out - he was Friedrich von Trapp in The Sound of Music!)
And Then There Were None is now playing at Theatre Royal Sydney until Sunday 1 June 2025.
Run time: Approx. 2 hours 35 minutes (including a 20-minute interval)
Recommended for ages 15+ due to references and depictions of murder, manslaughter and suicide.
Please note: the production includes recorded gunshots and brief flashing lights.
