Hovering just above the flowing waters of the Birrarung (Yarra River) burns a bright line of light.

Lasers of this intensity have never been used in Melbourne before. A powerful beam, almost a kilometre in length, activates at regular intervals with sweeping planes, mist and flickering synesthetic effect, to synchronised sound and music.

Witnessing this apparition from bridges and walkways along the river, Robin Fox’s MONOCHORD radically alters a well-known city landscape and makes visible the invisible lines that connect us. Free and nightly 6.30pm-9.30pm. More info here.
