The Library is turning into a kid’s playground for a day this summer!
You can choose your own adventure with fun, free activities designed to get you moving and grooving, making and shaking.
Plus, the State Library of Victoria has some special, ticketed performances for kids to enjoy throughout the day. You don’t want to miss out on the fun – see below for everything on offer, and book your spot now.

Discover the magic of music with Jams for Juniors in the Isabella Fraser Room. Led by Karen Kyriakou, children aged 0-5 years will explore, play and join in with musicians from the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra.
You can book into one of 3 sessions that are happening at 10.45am, 12.30pm & 2.00pm. Tickets are $10.
The 12.30pm session will be Auslan interpreted.
Free craft activities
Become a cardboard engineer and contribute to a bustling mini city in the Pauline Gandel Children’s Quarter with Dr Loz and SciencePlay Kids.
Design your very own zine at workshops from the Sticky Institute in the Russell Street Welcome Zone.
Have some papercraft fun with Paperazzi in Ian Potter Queen’s Hall, where you can make pinwheels, pellet drums and spinning tops to take home.Free movement activities
Have fun in the sun out on the forecourt with giant bubbles galore and have a go at making your own bubble creations.
Roll up to the Conversation Quarter and give poi spinning, juggling and more circus tricks a whirl with drop-in workshops from The Dreaming Space.
There’s no sitting for this storytime. It’s all Go for it, Go for it! and Jump, Jump! Join award-winning author Andrea Rowe for a fast-paced interactive Storytime session in the Ian Potter Queen’s Hall. Later, join her for a book signing session at Readings.
For babies and toddlers, the Create Quarter will be transformed into a sensory wonderland where they can explore sounds, sights, touch and more with Baby Sensory.
Try to find the roving hula hoop artist and acrobat, who’ll astound and delight throughout the Library.

Sing along with Ajak Kwai, renowned musician of contemporary South Sudanese music, PBS broadcaster, and refugee activist in the Ian Potter Queen’s Hall.
Boogie with the Funky Monkey Family Band in the Conversation Quarter with a live stage circus dance extravaganza, full of music, magic and wonder.Event info:
