Join thousands of veterans, their descendants, and current serving personnel as they gather to pay tribute to the ANZACs at the Shrine of Remembrance on ANZAC Day.
Thu 25 April 5.30am - 6.30am
The Dawn Service, rooted in the military tradition of 'standing to' at dawn for heightened vigilance, has become a poignant annual event drawing in a multitude of attendees to the Shrine of Remembrance.
The service happens outside and in all weather. It draws a large crowd, so you are likely to be standing for the whole time. Everyone is welcome to attend, and no tickets or bookings are necessary. Multiple screens around the Shrine will facilitate viewing of the proceedings.
The Dawn Service concludes around 6:30am, after which the public can enter the Sanctuary of the Shrine of Remembrance to lay a poppy. The Shrine opens for general viewing at 7am.
