Sunset Boulevard at Princess Theatre

Witness an epic new production of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s musical masterpiece Sunset Boulevard, starring Sarah Brightman and an incredible cast of Australian theatre royalty.

This lavish musical blockbuster features stunning sets and costumes evoking the glamorous Golden Age of Hollywood, featuring some of Lloyd Webber’s most recognisable songs “With One Look”, “The Perfect Year”, and “As If We Never Said Goodbye”.

Joining Sarah Brightman is Tim Draxl as Joe Gillis, Robert Grubb as Max Von Mayerling, Ashleigh Rubenach as Betty Schaefer, and Silvie Paladino in the role of Norma Desmond at certain performances.

Sunset Boulevard will arrive at Melbourne’s Princess Theatre from May, and the Sydney Opera House from August.

Event details:

  • Age: Recommended for 12 and up.

  • Child Tickets for persons aged 17 years and under.

  • Infants under the age of two are permitted free of charge provided they do not occupy a seat.

  • Duration: 2 hours and 30 minutes.

  • Times are approx. and subject to change at any time.

  • The role of Norma Desmond will be played by Sarah Brightman on Tuesday, 21 May.

    Please note the role of Norma Desmond will be played by Silvie Paladino on Tuesday evening and Wednesday matinee performances.

  • The producers cannot guarantee the appearance of any particular artist at any performance. No refunds or exchanges will be offered as a result of an artist’s unavailability to perform at any performance.

  • Audio Described Performance: Saturday June 15th, 2:00pm

  • Captioned Performance: Wednesday June 19th, 1:00pm

  • Please be aware that all patrons, regardless of age, must have a ticket.

  • Photography, video, and sound recordings of any kind are strictly prohibited during the performance.

  • Sunset Boulevard contains strobe lighting, smoke effects, gun shots and thematic material that may not be suitable for minors.

  • Patrons arriving late will not be admitted into the auditorium until a suitable break in the performance.
