Children's International Film Festival (CHIFF) across Melbourne

The Children's International Film Festival (CHIFF) is returning for its sixth year in Sydney (Ritz Cinema) and Melbourne (Classic Cinemas, Lido Cinemas and Cameo Cinemas) during the winter school holidays from 8 June to 14 July

This year's program is a month-long celebration of the cutest, funniest and most action-packed productions designed to enchant and inspire young children and their families!

A wide selection of English and foreign language screenings (with English subtitles) is on the table, including household names like Disney + Pixar as well as global award winners for Best Animated Film.

This year, CHIFF presents two special events that promise unforgettable experiences for attendees. Don't miss the Family Fun Day featuring Disney+Pixar’s highly anticipated new film Inside Out 2, where newly minted teenager Riley navigates unexpected new emotions; and experience the sensory delight of Sirocco and the Kingdom of the Winds, where sisters Juliette and Carmen journey into a magical odyssey. This special presentation offers two versions, in English dub and French with English subtitles, ensuring a captivating journey for all viewers.

Films at the CHIFF include:

  • Disney and Pixar's highly anticipated Inside Out 2

  • Billy the Cowboy Hamster: The Hero’s Return

  • Hanna and the Monsters

  • Goldbeak

  • Extinction

  • Ernest and Celestine: A Trip to Gibberitia

  • Moominvalley: Summer, Winter… and Summer

  • Puffin Rock and the New Friends

  • Popular Theory

  • Sirocco and the Kingdom of the Winds

and so many more!

In addition to the thrilling lineup, CHIFF is also hosting a number of creative events to extend excitement beyond the screen for our little cinephiles!

At CHIFF 2024, the excitement extends beyond the screen with films that encourage dress-ups and offer face-painting fun. A Cat’s Life invites viewers into a story of an unbreakable bond, complete with pre-film feline face-painting at select sessions. New Australian/Irish animation My Freaky Family brings Halloween vibes with a call for audiences to dress up in their scariest costumes for a chance to win prizes. Just Super inspires audiences to don their favourite superhero costumes, enhancing the immersive experience of this fun and gentle superhero story.
