Little Food Festival is bringing together a diverse range of partners to help showcase the magic of food and the role we all play in shaping a sustainable future.
At the event, kids can:
Plant a lettuce, silverbeet or edible viola seedling with Bunnings to take home
Hop on a Smoothie Bike to turn rescued bananas from OzHarvest into delicious smoothies
Enjoy a cultural cooking experience with Free to Feed, and learn about indigenous
flavours with Mabu Mabu to make your own salt blend using native ingredients
Learn about the gut-brain axis and the role of food in brain health with Monash University
Understand the different journey produce takes when sold locally vs at a supermarket with Farm My School
Be a soil detective with CERES school of nature and climate and discover just what fruits and vegetables are made of with the CSIRO
Learn about pollination with Rooftop Bees and make your own seed ball to take home
Familiar foodie faces will also be in attendance, including Gardening Australia’s Costa Georgiadis, Masterchef and the Great Unwaste’s Mandy Hall and @thefruitnerd, Thanh Truong.
