YIRRAMBOI returns for its fifth year and is back showcasing different expressions of culture and identity, creating a platform for the 400+ First Nations Creators. Melbourne streets will be filled with exciting and untold stories, performances and art. Within the 2025 lineup, includes a unique children’s and family program, with whole family fun in mind.
For families and bubups (babies), ENOKi’s Wonderland transforms Artplay into a hub of artful play. From sculpting ancient creatures to shadow play and storytelling, this dynamic space, led by Darcy McConnell (ENOKi), offers a space where kids can connect, collaborate, create, and let their imaginations soar! ENOKi’s Wonderland will also host a Bubup’s First Rave! on Sunday, May 11th (Mother’s Day) Kids and families are invited to move their mooms (bottoms) in this fun and energetic dance party. 1-11 May. ENOKi’s Wonderland
Through film, photography, and visual art, Apryl Day and Jirra Lulla create a love letter to Country in their deeply moving exhibition, HOLDING S P A C E. The exhibition invites audiences to reflect on resilience and the enduring ties that bind people to place. 1–11 May 2025. QVWC
Holding Space
An adventure of excitement and variety, Barring Yanabul cracks open the heart of Narrm, setting streets and laneways alight with installations, visual art, music, drag, and dance. As the sun sets, First Nations creatives move through the city, breaking away from colonial constructs of performing in ‘designated spaces,’ returning the stories of now to Country— the lands that have held them for over 80,000 years. This free event expands YIRRAMBOI’s reach, showcasing international First Nations creatives alongside local and national artists in unexpected locations beyond traditional venues.
