Touch and Connect (Free)

  • State Library of Victoria (map)

To celebrate Deafblind Awareness Week, we are hosting three interactive sessions for kids, led by Vision Australia.

Our regular sessions of Baby Bounce and Toddler Tales will be transformed into Touch and Tune and Sensory Storytime. Kids will learn about and experience accessible rhymes and sensory storytelling using touch, sound and Auslan.

Audio descriptions will be provided during Sensory Storytime, and Auslan interpretation, braille books, tactile books and sensory toys will be provided throughout.

Program:
10.30am - 11am Touch and Tune (0 – 18 months)
Sing and/or sign along with much-loved songs and rhymes and feel tactile song cards.

11am – 11.30am Craft activity
Using yarn and cardboard shapes, craft your own woolly cardboard creation to take home.

11.30am - 12pm Sensory Storytime (18 months – 5 years)
Move your body and watch, listen and/or feel the classic story, We’re Going on a Bear Hunt by Michael Rosen.

All are welcome. Book now.
