Viva Italia! Preston Market’s Italian Day Festival is back for 2025

  • Preston Market, 30A The Centreway, Preston  (map)

Preston Market’s most anticipated event of the year returns this August.

On Sunday 31 August, the much-loved Italian Day Festival will once again transform the iconic northside market into a vibrant celebration of Italian culture, cuisine and community.

Running from 8am to 3pm, this free family-friendly festa promises a full day of live music, dancing, traditional eats and local pop-ups – with something for everyone to enjoy.

From 10am to 3pm, the market will come alive with performances by Lorenzo + Co, the spirited Tarantella dancers and the soulful Veneto Choir, bringing the passion and rhythm of Italy to the heart of Preston. Expect classic tunes, singalongs and plenty of dancing in the piazza.

Food lovers will be in heaven with a mouth-watering line-up of Italian treats at the pop-up food stalls from 8am. Enjoy zeppole donuts from Sorelle Cateringtiramisu from Pintogelato by the scoop from Destination Gelatopanzerotti by Il PanzerottoPalermo Street Food’s famous chickpea fritters and the ever-popular Mama’s Polpette

Don’t forget to stop by Gindu  for a sip (or bottle) of artisan gin, and support the Lions Club cake stall fundraiser.

Alongside the culinary delights, festivalgoers can explore Italian care services from Co.As.It. and Dovida, or take care of business with Forex Currency Exchange, all popping up from 8am to 3pm.

Little ones can join the fun with free kids’ activities from 10am to 1pm, making it the perfect family day out.

Whether you come for the food, the music, the culture or the community – the Italian Day Festival at Preston Market is a celebration like no other. And with each year growing bigger and more beloved than the last, 2025 promises to be the best one yet.
