Sarah Snook’s nomination for her absolutely extraordinary performance is so very well deserved as are the nominations for our entire Australian creative team. The response to this production, be it in Australia, the West End and now Broadway is testament to the creativity, talent and sheer vision of all those involved and is wonderful recognition of Sydney Theatre Company and Kip Williams who took the bold risk of originating such a visionary and daring piece of theatre, right here in Sydney”.

Snook is best known for her role as Shiv Roy in HBO’s Succession, which earned an Emmy, two Golden Globes and two Critics’ Choice Awards. Her Olivier Award-winning performance in THE PICTURE OF DORIAN GRAY previously stunned audiences in London.
Williams’ daring interpretation of Wilde’s tale of beauty, obsession, and corruption strikes a powerful chord in the digital age, reflecting modern society’s fixation on youth and self-image.
The celebrated world premiere of THE PICTURE OF DORIAN GRAY debuted at the Sydney Theatre Company in 2020, extending twice due to demand and touring nationally to critical acclaim. The London season earned Snook a 2024 Olivier Award for Best Actress and a Best Costume Design win for Marg Horwell.
The Broadway season of THE PICTURE OF DORIAN GRAY is produced by Michael Cassel, Adam Kenwright, Len Blavatnik and Danny Cohen, Daryl Roth, Amanda Lipitz and Henry Tisch. Foresight Theatrical is General Manager, Aaron Lustbader is Executive Producer, and Michael Cassel Group is Worldwide Executive Producer. Having opened on 27 March 2025 at the Music Box Theatre, and running through 29 June 2025, the Broadway production has already made history, breaking the box office record at the 104-year-old venue.
Design credits include: Set and Costume Design by Marg Horwell, Lighting Design by Nick Schlieper, Composition & Sound Design by Clemence Williams, Video Design by David Bergman, with Eryn Jean Norvill as Dramaturg & Creative Associate. Lisa Iacucci serves as Production Stage Manager.
Sarah Snook is represented by United Talent Agency, Shanahan, and Jennifer Gabler Rawlings at Omni Artists LTD.
