[Melbourne Sydney] CHIFF 2025 Rolls On Through the School Holidays - With a Zombie-Tastic New Addition

The Children’s International Film Festival (CHIFF) is in full swing across Sydney and Melbourne, delivering a packed program of films and events for young audiences and their families — and with screenings continuing through to 20 July, there’s still plenty of time to jump in on the fun these school holidays.

Featuring 25 films from around the world, including 19 Australian premieres, CHIFF is a celebration of adventure, imagination, and global storytelling for kids aged 3 and up. From dazzling animations and uplifting tales to retro throwbacks and laugh-out-loud comedies, CHIFF offers something for all ages — with special sessions tailored for tweens and teens too.

New to the program is Night of the Zoopocalypse - a hilarious, fast-paced animated feature that puts a kid-friendly spin on the zombie genre. When a meteorite crash turns zoo animals into mutant monsters, a brave wolf and her unlikely crew of survivors must save their home (and the planet) from total zoopocalypse. It’s weird, wonderful, and just spooky enough for older kids craving something a little edgier.

Screening at Ritz Cinemas in Sydney, and Classic, Lido and Cameo Cinemas in Melbourne, CHIFF also features special events across the season: from arts and crafts, to a PJ party day (with treats for all pyjama-clad guests), and the ever-popular CHIFF colouring competition.

Whether it’s your first time or a holiday ritual, CHIFF is the ultimate big-screen outing for curious, creative kids this winter.
