Sydney Qantas Lounge Kids Zone
Little Miss and I recently spent a short week in Sydney taking in the sights. On our way back to Melbourne, we spent a few hours in the Sydney Qantas lounge's Kids Zone while we waited for our flight home.
In May this year, Qantas introduced the Joey Club, a program aimed at young frequent flyers. The Wiggles treated kids to a pop up performance in Sydney to celebrate the new initiative. The initiative includes a novelty passport for little ones to record their trips, a kids only zone, a special kids menu for kids in lounges and a dedicated children's tv & movies on certain flights.
Little Miss was very happy when she found out there was a little play area for her to spend time in before our flight. I believe the area was originally located near the food and drinks main area however due to some recent renovations it has been moved to the previous no phone quiet area.
I hope the Kids Zone will go back to where it was originally as the area is quite small and it makes things a little bit tricky especially when travelling alone to have to go back and forth with luggage and bub to the food and drinks area.
A few toys and some cute dogs that little ones can climb onto are available in the lounge as well as chairs, tables and highchairs to use close by.
We ordered the Joey pack which was delivered to us in the Kids Zone as it is made on request. Little Miss chose a vegemite sandwich instead of cheese & ham which came with iced vovos biscuits and some dried sultanas. We also had access to fresh fruit, water bottles and juices via a little bar fridge next to the play area.
Overall little Miss loved the Joey Club Kids Zone even though it was a bit overcrowded at times due to its current size and location. She was also happy with her Joey pack and she made a few friends while we waited for our flight.
The Joey Club Kids Zone is available to Qantas club members across some domestic & international lounges in Australia.
