What inspired me to start blogging ...

When I was looking through 25,000 photos in my photo library to create a quick slideshow with Shoebox to enter the ProBlogger Ultimate Blogger's Kit challenge, one thing stood out (apart from the thousands of pics of my children) - our love for the National Gallery of Victoria - the NGV.

I don't know what it is about the NGV, maybe it's the modern building, the exhibitions, the kids' installations, the kids activities, the children's festival, the gardens, maybe everything .. one thing for sure is that now that we live in Sydney - we miss it!

I'd never set foot in the NGV before little Miss was born. It all started when we visited one of their kids' installation one year back in 2013. I just loved how we could spend hours there and little Miss was happy exploring, drawing, looking at art and running in the sculpture garden. Come to think of it, it was one of the main reasons I started my blog Melbourne4Bubs now Busy City Kids. My very first post was on the Monet exhibition coming to the NGV and their kids activities!

It is a unique place that inspires me to blog and share my love of art, fashion, arts and crafts, fashion, music (and more) with my readers and show them how the NGV is a great place to visit with their children anytime of the day and all year round!

On my kid free days, I love spending time there walking around both sites, discovering something new, laying on the floor in the Great Hall admiring the stunning stained glass and sitting in the sculpture garden watching the world go by. It has also been a great place to meet friends and show interstate family what I believe makes Melbourne such a great place to live.

Throughout the years, there has been some fantastic exhibitions, sculptures, festivals, activities and kids installations held at the National Gallery of Victoria's St Kilda Road and Fed Square site. It's hard to pick a favourite year, a favourite exhibition or favourite kids' installation as we have enjoyed them all equally and they just keep getting better every year!

When I visit galleries interstate, I feel so grateful that my children can be immersed with art at a young age at the NGV with the kids' installations and activities that take place during the year which many if not all are free to enjoy!

To showcase what inspired me to start blogging, I have put together this quick and fun slideshow with Shoebox of pics taken at the NGV over the last three years. It probably doesn't do it justice, so go and experience all the fun for yourself!
