Boneo Maze - Melbourne - Review

A few weeks ago, Kate and her little ones headed to Boneo Maze to have a day out down the Peninsula.  They explored through the different mazes and enjoyed a few games of mini golf - who wouldn't! Make the most of this June long weekend and head to Winterglow at Boneo Maze and enjoy workshops, entertainment and family fun. More info below. Thanks Kate for the great review. With a sneak peek as soon as you pull up into the car park, it was hard for the poppets to resist beginning our visit at the professionally designed 18-hole mini golf course.  This was the perfect course for them to play their first ever game of mini golf with little ones teeing off on red markers (closer to the hole) and adults playing off the blue.  Be sure to wave to the fluffy white lambs in the paddock next door!

The path leading down to the hedge maze gives a sensational view over the waterways and we took great delight in trying to find our way to the centre of the maze and up to the viewing platform - finding our way out again proved to be just as difficult!  Past the maze entrance, you begin your stroll along the 1.5km boardwalk. winding through the native trees and wetlands. Look out for birds nests, frogs, water hens and giant animal lanterns.

At the end of the boardwalk you will find yourself in the games garden with giant chess, checkers and connect four as well as plenty of space for a BYO picnic.  Here you will also discover the fully operational vintage carousel (circa 1864) which operates at specific times on the weekend and during the school holidays.

Back at the entrance you will find The Lakeside Cafe serving seasonal, homemade meals and snacks which you can enjoy inside next to the open fire or outside on the deck overlooking the wetlands. On weekends you will also find a super cute frog jumping castle next to the cafe, perfect for little ones to jump about while you have a coffee or glass of wine.

On the other side of the lake you will find the adventure zone with rock climbing wall, trampolines, bungee and quad tramps and pedal boats. This area is currently closed for the winter season but will reopen Saturdays and Sundays in September and then everyday during the school holidays thereafter.
