Lionel Watts Reserve Playground - Sydney - Review
The Lionel Watts Reserve Playground reopened on the 1st December 2019 with a nearby skatepark. This NEW playground replaces a small but very popular playground and the newer version is even more popular now with lots of space and improved dog park and parking areas. There is parking available before or after the playground with double gates at the entry stopping escape artists aka my kids from escaping ha!
This fully fenced off playground has different zones suitable for different age groups. It includes an undercover area with double sided seating, a range of swings, a structure with multiple slides, little shop and climbing areas and so much more!
The most popular attraction of the playground is the flying foxes. My kids love it and it’s nice to see kids taking turns on it and bringing it back for others to use. We popped in after new year and noticed the flying foxes were hanging a bit low so reported it to council who will hopefully fix it for our next visit. Near the flying foxes, there is a large banana swing and shaded benches for people to enjoy a snack or picnic.
The kids liked the climbing dome with its features and monkey bars and enjoyed the little garden with musical instruments too.
And they of course loved the merry-go-round and were spinning there for days!
But of course the multiple swings on offer were very popular too with the usual older child swings, lounge swings, baby swings and a tandem adult & baby swing which is lots of fun.
The climbing structure on the right of the entrance provides a small, medium and large slide as well as a climbing net in the center of the structure and a fun little pretend play shop with bbq table etc.
The playground has nearby parking on either side of the playground and toilets (with change tables in the toilets) and a bubbler.
You’ll love the Lionel Watts Reserve Playground, it’s a new favourite of ours, we love it! Grab your KeepCup and drop in to Mrs Jones Bakery for a coffee and some pastries on your way to the playground, perfect afternoon visit.
