Artarmon Reserve Playground - Sydney - Review

The Artarmon Reserve playground near Burra Road in Artarmon was recently suggested to us by @allthingsmomsydney and we love it and want to go back soon! There’s so much to do there and it’s so peaceful among the trees.

Park on Burra Road, the playground will be at the end of the street. To the right, there is a path which you should follow to get to the lower playground, there are either steps or a walking path. Head to the left and you’ll find a community garden and you’ll head to the top part of the playground.

At the bottom of the playground, there is a wooden structure with slide, twin swings, gazebo, a bouncer for three, a sandpit and a large bucket swing and a slide.

The top of the playground has a large climbing structure with resting parts and a little swing as well as two metal slides and a spinning disc which the kids loved laying on and turning.

The kids were so excited when they saw the flying foxes which had one normal flying fox part and one chair which the kids loved lining up for. They also liked the mini trampolines near the gazebo.

The Artarmon Reserve is a great new playground with lots to do and kids enjoyed it. Our only comment is that it needs shade at top as it has very young trees and no shade clothes so don’t forget the kids’ hat and sunscreen, snacks and water bottle. Toilets are located close to the sports field oval so be ready to run down the hill if the kids need to go to the toilets ha!

Tips:

  • Bring sunscreen and a hat for your little ones as there is no shade in the top area which becomes really warm on hot days especially next to the flying fox

  • Bring a picnic, snacks and water bottle as there are no nearby cafés or shops

  • There is a walking and cycling path along playground so grab the little one's scooter or bike

This playground has:

  • Toilets down the hill near the oval grounds which is an unleashed dog exercise area

  • 2 Parking areas near Burra Street

  • Cycling & scooter and walking tracks

  • Picnic areas

  • Seating, tables, benches, 2 BBQs and a bubbler

  • Swings for babies and older kids

  • Walking and cycling paths
