inBloom at The Calyx - Royal Botanic Gardens Sydney - Review

The kids always enjoy being around nature so a walk to the Royal Botanic Gardens was due since we were in the city that day.

The Calyx’s installation every year brings beauty to the gardens and it is something we look forward to! This year’s inBLOOM installation is all about loving your own garden and has over 20,000 plants on display and is one of the largest living green walls in the Southern Hemisphere.

The kids and I loved the colours and smells of this large living green wall and how close to nature it strangely made us feel as a big nature hug or something. I wish we had a living green wall like that at our house! Stunning!

The kids enjoyed walking through the exhibition and listening to the interesting facts I read off the notes for each plant or flower and also loved looking for butterflies throughout the garden following the clues in the Kids Discovery Trail.

They also enjoyed the table of seeds, pine cones, coconuts, the way they looked and the noise they made.
