Jacka Park Playground in Freshwater Sydney

The Jacka Park Playground was recently re-opened after some much needed improvements and just in time for the summer holidays! The playground has three seperate play areas. One for minis, juniors and primary schoolers. It has a spinning carousel and and pod swing as well as standard and baby swing.

Little bubs and toddlers with love the little play area with two bouncy rides, a swing and hands-on play parts. Preschoolers will like the nature themed structure with more climbing parts and a slide.

Older and more adventurous kids will find a metal structure which is great to climb across. Just be mindful of the moving platform at the top, it threw us a bit at first. Also this structure has no shading so may be hot to touch in summer. Similarly the fake grass might be warm or hot to touch or little bubs to walk on in full summer if they are not wearing shoes.

The playground also has a carousel which the kids enjoyed quite a bit. We liked the sandstone boulders and shade cloth across the top of the main playground area. An extra one on top of the carousel and metal climbing structure would be a great addition.

Tips:

  • Bring sunscreen and a hat for your little ones as there is no shade in some areas of the playground although trees are helping with shade

  • Bring a picnic, snacks and water bottle as there are no nearby cafés or shops
