Australian Geographic: Our Country Immersive Experience in Sydney
This week, we were invited to the global premiere of Australian Geographic: Our Country Immersive Experience, a brand new exhibition at the ICC Sydney.
We are big fans of the Australian Geographic and National Geographic documentaries and movies, so we were very excited to attend this first-of-its-kind multi-sensory experience.
As you come through the beginning of the exhibition, a beautiful poem from Gija/Bard woman & poet Nola Gregory is displayed before walking through the night skies followed by the owl always watching. You are then introduced to large format multi-screens that display sights and sounds of the beating heart of Australia’s vast wilderness.
This great exhibition explores Australia’s beautiful landscapes from rainforests, desert lands, oceans to skies, animals, birds reptiles & insects and lets visitors witness the changes of the weather through the seasons. Created from works of 25 specialist cinematographers and 100,000 hours in the field, Australian Geographic: Our Country will immerse you into Australia’s many natural beauties.
Kids will love the large format videos and sounds of our beautiful country. Did you know that 80% of Australia’s animals are not seen anywhere in the world?!
You can walk around the room to see the different projections displayed, there are benches to ponder at and two interactive mats on the ground where children can stand on whilst projections of animals and sights are displayed.
We really loved Australian Geographic: Our Country Immersive Experience and can’t wait to experience it again! The kids loved admiring this beautiful Australia that they call home. Our photos don’t do it justice so check it out for yourself this summer in Sydney! A perfect Christmas present or school holiday experience for family and friends.
