City of Wonder: Wildflower Edition at The Garden Gallery - Review
We headed into the city on Thursday for a first look at City of Wonder: Wildflower Edition by Kid Wonder and artist Raffaele Salvoldi and loved the space!

The kids enjoyed exploring the many hands-on activities in this immersive space. It’s a beautiful reminder to never stop playing (or forget how to play!).
They built towers with Wonder Planks, coloured-in butterflies, made origami butterflies, followed a stamp trail, joined a workshop, added a flower to the meadow and even won a Wonder Plank from the claw machine!
Perfect for children aged 3–12, City of Wonder: Wildflower Edition is ideal for kids who love to create, build and experiment.
Artist Raffaele Salvoldi used Wonder Planks to create the stunning centrepiece installation and gave us a little demonstration of how the centrepiece will be toppled on the 31st of January!
Wonder Planks are made from recycled plastic, designed and produced in Sydney, one of a kind and are available to purchase onsite along with Origami and Creative Kits from vending machines.
Created especially for the Royal Botanic Garden Sydney, this experience reinforces messages of sustainability by drawing inspiration from the flowers and butterflies found in the surrounding garden meadows. Families can choose from general admission, workshops, or a VIP artist experience.
City of Wonder: Wildflower Edition is on at The Garden Gallery until 31 January 2026.
