Learn about the architectural history of the Sydney Opera House with Architecture Club by getting creative through a series of fun and playful design exercises for beginners or design lovers. 

Inspired by the unique design genius of architect Jorn Utzon, Architect and Educator Louise O’Brien’s design workshops will empower you to take your passion about buildings and architecture and pour it into a fun design project, channelled through creativity and imagination.

Birds Wings and Structural Expression

Flying into the future. Model making and sketch creative challenge. Utzon often referenced a bird as inspiration for the glazing of the Opera House. Using similar components as Utzon's models create your sculptural forms inspired structure that conveys motion and movement.

Louise O’Brien is a registered Architect in NSW with qualifications in Installation Art & Interior Design. She is the founder of Apsara Collective – a residential, hospitality and interior architecture studio. She has more than twenty years’ experience locally and internationally. Louise’s passion for design and the opportunities it provides to inspire and empower young people has led her to education and she now lectures at a tertiary level and runs the Architecture for Kids School based in Sydney. Author of 100 Things to Know About Architecture.
