With clear blue skies, and warm, dry days forecasted, the winter school holidays are the perfect time for a wild adventure with the whole family at Taronga Zoo Sydney.
Explore the new Australian native wildlife experience Nura Diya Australia, breathe in the fresh air up high on the Wild Ropes Adventure course, enjoy the antics of the zoo’s Chimpanzee youngsters and take in the sights of Sydney Harbour from the only zoo with the view.

Start your day by swinging in to watch in awe the antics of Taronga Zoo’s 21-strong Chimpanzee community. Spot the three playful and adventurous young juveniles in the group who range in age from two and a half- to five -years-old, and meet Lemba, a now 4-week-old Chimpanzee baby who is stealing the hearts of the community, zookeepers, and guests alike. There really isn’t a better time to come and learn about our closest living relatives. The best time to catch the community at their most playful is at the daily Chimpanzee Talk at 12pm.

Next up, explore the new immersive native wildlife experience, Nura Diya Australia. Stroll amongst Kangaroos and Emus, come paw to paw with two young Dingoes Warada and Kep Kep and adventure up high along a brand-new canopy walk and into the trees to see the colony of Koalas.

Come together at Ngununy Nura, Taronga Zoo’s new Cultural Garden, to pay respects to Elders, past, present, and emerging. Taronga will be celebrating NAIDOC week with daily cultural activities including dance workshops, basket weaving, bush tucker talks and storytelling, from 1 – 15 July.
Come and meet Taronga’s amazing Keepers and learn things you never knew about your favourite animal at one of the 13 keeper talks – on every day and free with your zoo ticket. Plus, there’s a new ‘Aussie Animals Alive’ show to enjoy every day of the school holidays, where you’ll meet some of Australia’s most iconic native animals like the Short-beaked Echidna, Lesser Sooty Owl and even the elusive Platypus.

Six-month-old Long-nosed Fur Seal pup Kobe has well and truly found his swimming flippers under the watchful eye of mum Keke at Seal Bay. Guests can have an unforgettable time in the splash zone and learn how to help Kobe’s incredible species at three daily Seals for the Wild presentations, powered by Red Energy.
