Diwali at Powerhouse Castle Hill is an all-ages event celebrating the Festival of Lights. This program is delivered in collaboration with the Consulate General of India, Sydney and the Swami Vivekananda Cultural Centre.

  • Karpahavalli Music Academy 11–11.30am
    Performing Indian Carnatic music.

  • Nrityam Sydney Dance Studio 12.30–1pm
    Performing Bollywood inspired choreography.

  • Kalashree Dance Institute 1.30–2pm
    Performing the traditional Koli Dance from Maharashtra.

  • Kiyara Dance Academy 2.30–3pm
    Performing Odissi dance.

  • Rangoli Workshop 11am-11.45am, 1pm-1.45pm
    Join Sandhya Srinivasan to create Rangoli artwork. limited capacity available.

  • Storytelling 12pm and 2pm
    Award winning author Susanne Gervay OAM reads Diwali stories.

  • Collection Tours - Indian Textiles 11am, 12.15am, 2pm and 3.15pm
    Join a Powerhouse curator and community leader Bhavna Shivalkar on a tour that highlights Indian textiles from the Powerhouse Collection. Recommended for adults and children over 5 years of age. Book

  • Café 10am–3pm
    Serving traditional Indian sweets and savories.
