Celebrate Lunar New Year 2024 at Luna Park

Come down to Luna Park Sydney on the 10th of February and join the Lunar New Year festivities as we celebrate the Year of the Dragon, with a special Lion Dance, specialty food options and traditional decor throughout the Park. The Dragon holds immense significance during Lunar New Year as a symbol of strength, good fortune, and prosperity, embodying the spirit of renewal and auspicious beginnings for the year ahead. 

SEE THE LION DANCE

Experience the breathtaking spectacle of a traditional Lion dance at 4:30 pm! This mesmerising performance will gracefully weave its way throughout the entire Park finishing at the Face. With an ensemble of drums and cymbals adding to the ambiance and spectacle, it really will be a sight to behold for all guests to enjoy. The captivating performance will run for 20 minutes and concludes with the lion devouring a head of lettuce to reveal hidden money, playfully tossing aside each leaf to symbolise the spread of prosperity and wealth to onlookers. Visit the Park to witness this mesmerising lion performance and fully immerse yourself in the rich traditions associated with the Lunar New Year.
