Dragon on Dixon is a celebration of the Lunar New Year, with the energetic presence of the Wood Dragon as a centrepiece.
The dragon’s personality, energetic in its generosity, brings good fortune and prosperity to all, in the year 2024.
The dragon is three dimensional routed from sheets of locally sourced marine plywood – chosen specifically for its strength, workability, endurance and sustainable qualities.
Haymarket HQ
Haymarket HQ is a go-to-market accelerator that helps founders to generate sales and raise funds in new growth markets. Since 2016, Haymarket HQ has supported 800+ companies to start, raise funds and grow into new markets including Australia, Southeast Asia and beyond.
Based in Sydney's Chinatown, Haymarket HQ has also been involved in several activations to support the revitalisation of Dixon Street and the broader Haymarket region, including being the lead agency producing Neon Playground in late 2022 and the Sydney Lunar Festival gates on Dixon Street Mall in January 2023. It is also one of the five signatory organisations in the Haymarket Alliance, participating in the Uptown program for precinct regeneration.
Basalt Studio
Established in 2010, Basalt Studio prides itself in delivering design projects of outstanding design merit. Basalt’s services take projects from concept through to approvals, with everything in between.
The studio is led by Director Anthony Ho. Originally trained and practiced in the field of architecture, Anthony follows his passion to create high impact and memorable designs with meticulous detail.
Co-Founder, Fiona Ho, senior interior designer at Basalt Studio was short-listed in 2023 for the Australian Design Review 30Under30 Architects and Innovators of the Built World Program.
Fiona has been recognised amongst the most inspiring and promising architects and innovators of the built world under the age of 30. The 30UNDER30 Architects and Innovators of the Built World program constitutes a community that encourages networking, collaboration, and knowledge exchange as well as fostering the next generation of architects.
