Providing dedicated support, adaptations and programs for people with hidden disabilities at the MCA.

Enjoy a quieter experience at the MCA this Sunflower Sunday, with extra support on hand for visitors with hidden disabilities.

Join our next Sunday session between 10am–4pm, where you can enjoy our exhibitions independently or engage with our major exhibition Tacita Dean through a range of programs tailored for adults who may be d/Deaf or hard of hearing, blind or have low vision and families with Autistic children. Event adaptions

Environment:

  • Staff trained in disability confidence throughout the building

  • Priority support for people wearing the Hidden Disabilities Sunflower Scheme lanyard

  • No PA announcements, except in the case of emergencies

  • Reduced volume on staff communication radios

  • Dedicated quiet area on Level 2

  • Dedicated quieter tables at the MCA Cafe between 10am–12pm

  • MCA Store click & collect orders

  • Dedicated Sunflower Sunday information station on Level 3

  • Free Sunflower Scheme lanyards for visitors with hidden disabilities 

  • Noise-reducing headphones and tactile resources available
