Everyone is invited to Take Your Place with Wesley Mission on Good Friday in Sydney’s Martin Place for a free interactive street theatre performance that will witness Jesus carrying the Cross.
With a cast of more than thirty, the Good Friday performance uses story, symbolism, music, ensemble movement and design to activate the city streets, transforming Martin Place.
Emphasising the importance of the day, Wesley Mission CEO Rev Stu Cameron says, “On Good Friday, it is not uncommon to hear people ask, ‘what’s so good about it?’. But the Cross reveals Jesus’ sacrificial love, and we meet a Saviour who is not removed from the challenging realities of life, but who knows our struggles.”
“Easter is the central festival that marks the Christian faith even more than Christmas. It was Jesus’ life, death, and resurrection that changed the course of human history and the lives of billions of people since, including me,” Cameron says.
Following the performance, people are invited to respond by laying petals on the Cross.
