Flights of fancy by artists Claire Healy and Sean Cordeiro is at the heart of the Hive Festival at the Art Gallery of New South Wales.
For this creative duo, a kite is a marvellous object that inspires daydreams and encourages imaginations to take flight.
For their joyful collective project, the artists based their huge tetrahedral kites on designs by the inventor of the telephone, Alexander Graham Bell. You’re invited to create the sails of these giant kites by adding your own drawings and designs that reflect your hopes and dreams for the future.
See the artwork change and grow over the weekend and drop in to hands-on workshops any time between 10am and 4.30pm on Saturday 18 January, or between 9am and 4.30pm on Sunday 19 January, when the Art Gallery opens an hour early for a sensory-friendly Hive experience.
