School holiday activities at the Australian Museum

  • Australian Museum (map)

Are you looking for fun things to do with the kids in Sydney during the school holidays? The Australian Museum (AM) offers a range of educational activities to keep your kids entertained. Discover free family-friendly drop-in activities and ticketed events for a memorable day at the Museum.

In celebration of the AM's newest exhibition Machu Picchu and the Golden Empires of Peru and the release of STUDIOCANAL's Paddington in Peru (in cinemas 1 January 2025), enjoy fun Paddington-themed activities. Mark your calendars for 7 January when Paddington visits for the day and Hintze Hall transforms into the perfect lunch spot for the Teddy Bears' Picnic with Paddington! Grab a Paddington In Peru-themed lunchbox filled with picnic treats available for pre-order here.

The AM is open every day of the school holidays, with free general entry! Only a short walk from Museum and St James train stations, and new Gadigal Metro station, the AM is easy to get to, and there is paid parking nearby for a visit whether it's raining or a sunny day out.
