ACO X CLUB Weld

  • ACO On The Pier – The Neilson, Sydney (map)

For one night only - on Friday 7 November nine neurodiverse musicians from ACE’s Club Weld Attitude program will share the stage with members of the internationally renowned Australian Chamber Orchestra (ACO) for ACO X Club Weld

Held at the ACO’s harbourside home, ACO On The Pier in the Walsh Bay Arts Precinct, Sydney, the concert marks the culmination of an artistic partnership that bridges different corners of the city’s music scene through collaboration and the power of diverse voices.

Audiences will experience a program of wonderful original works by the Club Weld musicians with brilliant new string arrangements by the ACO and a few special guests.  The music spans neo-classical piano pieces, jazz-inspired instrumentals, country, new-folk, pop, electronic and RnB/Soul, showcasing the talents of neurodiverse artists alongside virtuosic musicians from one of the world’s most celebrated chamber orchestras for an evening of bold and inclusive creativity.

“We’re finally beginning to hear a proper diversity of voices (and lived experiences) in Australian music … a deeper, truer range of people than ever before,” said music journalist Doug Wallen.

Since 2015 Club Weld has supported neurodiverse musicians via music making sessions, recording  projects and professional development initiatives including performances & high-profile creative partnerships.

Club Weld works for the success of artists with disabilities, who have the right to pursue music, develop careers and be recognised as professionals.
