Performing Lines

Is that song appropriate for your age? Haven’t you watched enough TV today? Are you sure you’re ready for YouTube? Won’t you find that book a bit advanced?

Wherever they turn, kids are bombarded with reasons why they can’t do stuff – read this book, watch that movie, play that game. THE CENSOR is a timely theatre production that gives kids a place to make their own decisions about the media they consume and the manner in which they do it.

Co-created by award-winning theatre directors and artists Cassandra Fumi and Vidya Rajan with an ensemble of dynamic children, THE CENSOR offers a breath of fresh air for any kid sick of being told what not to do. Adults are welcome too but be warned: the kids are in charge. And who knows? You might just learn something! As part of the Sydney Festival 2026
