A show that explores environmental themes through Chinese mythology, puppetry, and visual arts crossing cultures and generations.

Performed by the renowned China Children’s Art Theatre and originally directed by acclaimed Australian Director Peter Wilson, it has been performed on the international stage since 2009. For one day only at the Sydney Event Centre on Saturday, 26 September 2026 at 2pm and 7pm.

A beautifully told story, without words. Steeped in Chinese mythology, the drama unfolds through live performances and puppetry, and a visual feast of exquisite costumes and scenery.

Directed by world-famous Australian director, Peter Wilson, The Dragon Child has been performed in countries around the world since 2009, receiving wide acclaim by drawing on the 12 animals of the Chinese zodiac to help deliver a powerful environmental message. A story of growth, survival and the endless cycle of life told from the perspective of a child, this unique experience captures the imagination of children and adults alike.
