#melbourne REVIEW - A Christmas Carol at the Comedy Theatre - on until 24th December . Renata and her daughter headed to the Comedy Theatre for the opening night of A Christmas Carol Australia this week and had the most wonderful time, here’s their review below.
“Christmas cheer spreads across the streets as hymns are sung from the lowly poor to the commoners around the town. In Melbourne’s show ‘A Christmas Carol’, the audience gets to relive the events of Charles Dickens’ original story. The meaning behind Christmas, on who we should be and the little things that matter most. Ebenezer Scrooge receiving a ghastly visit from 3 spirits, originating from different timelines in order to guide him, under the curse of his old business partner. A returning play, fitting for every individual that’s worth your time. Raising funds for charity, so everybody can have enough money to have food this Christmas, and further on. Now happening in Melbourne’s Comedy Theatre.“

This five-time Tony Award®-winning production of Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol will return to Melbourne’s Comedy Theatre for a strictly limited 5-week season from 27 November.
On a winter Christmas Eve, the cold-hearted miser, Ebenezer Scrooge is visited by four ghosts. Transported to worlds past, present, and future, he witnesses what a lifetime of greed and fear could lead to and sees with fresh eyes the possibility of joy and kindness. Can Ebenezer be saved before it’s too late?
This magical interpretation welcomes theatre goers of all ages with dazzling staging, a moving story, and beloved carols including “Joy to the World”, “Silent Night”, and “It Came Upon the Midnight Clear”.
Celebrated by audiences around the world, The Old Vic’s joyous and heartfelt production of A Christmas Carol is conceived and directed by Matthew Warchus (Groundhog Day, Matilda the Musical) and adapted for the stage by playwright Jack Thorne (Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, Enola Homes).
