Stirling Steamroller Playground - Adelaide - Review
Originally ordered by the Mt Barker Council, the Steamroller now featured in the Stirling Steamroller playground was being driven from Adelaide to Mt Barker when the driver stopped at the Eagle on the Hill for refreshment and the engine seized.
Mt Barker Council subsequently offered the steamroller to Stirling Council for a discount, and the offer was accepted. The steamroller came into service in 1927 and since its retirement it has continued to serve the community as play equipment in the park. Kids are particularly fond of climbing up on the steamroller and playing driver. My kids love it every time we visit the Adelaide Hills!
This fully fenced playground is perfect for families to pop in the centre of Stirling for a coffee, a shop, a wonder and a play. It features two structured areas, one for little kids under 5 years and one for kids 5+ years. Each area features a climbing structure with a slide as well as age appropriate swings, bouncing cars, seesaws and lots of seating and eating spots.
A fully fenced playground separated in two parts, great for kids of all ages. They will love driving the old steam roller! This playground is located at 2 Mt Barker Rd, right next to the first roundabout in Stirling.
