Kulin Dreaming & Kangaroo Tales Experience - Werribee Open Range Zoo - Review
Kate and her little ones experienced the special Kulin Dreaming school holiday activities yesterday at Werribee Open Range Zoo and were invited to experience the special Kangaroo Tales Animal Experience where they shared a special connection with the Zoo’s kangaroos - such a special day! Thank you for the review and photos Kate xo Catherine
Connect with Australian animals and Indigenous culture these school holidays during Kulin Dreaming; a new, meaningful and immersive experience at Werribee Open Range Zoo.
From 21st of September to the 6th of October, visitors can join members of the local Kulin Nation as they share incredible stories through dance and didgeridoo performances as well as participating in Aboriginal cultural activities.
Visit the Australian Trail to cook damper and sample bush tea.
Learn Aboriginal dance and hear animal stories.
Have your face and hand painted with ground ochre and create your own Indigenous arts and craft.
The poppets loved decorating clap sticks and river pebble symbol painting.
While you are there, be sure to say hello to Werribee Open Range Zoo’s kangaroos, brolgas and emus in their native grassland habitat, spot koalas in the trees, and meet some curious creatures in Bandicoot Hideout. You might even be lucky enough to see a tiny wallaby head peeping out of its mum’s pouch!
Make your zoo visit even more special by booking a koala or kangaroo encounter.
We joined Ranger Danielle for a Kangaroo Tales Experience - up-close access to the Zoo’s resident mob of kangaroos (as well as the cheeky emus). Perfect for all ages, Danielle shared lots of fun facts about Australia's most famous animal and we even got to hand feed Josie, a gorgeous 11 year old Eastern Grey Kangaroo.
We highly recommended taking part in Kulin Dreaming and booking an animal encounter at Werribee Open Range Zoo these school holidays - not only does it offer the opportunity to step into the beautiful outback but it provides children and their families with unforgettable animal memories and a deeper understanding of Indigenous culture.
Busy City Kids were hosted by Werribee Open Range Zoo for the purposes of a review. Travel and food were self funded. All opinions & feedback are genuine & truthful.
