Mimaru Tokyo Ginza East with Kids - Tokyo - Review

After staying at Karaksa Hotel Premier Tokyo Ginza in 2023, we wanted to try another Mimaru hotel, this time in the Tokyo Ginza area and thought Mimaru Tokyo Ginza East would be great. We love the family friendly Mimaru Apartment Hotel chain, they have slowly grown their portfolio across Tokyo, Kyoto and Osaka over the years and are super accomodating for families with children or groups.

While it was a great hotel to stay in, it wasn’t located right next to the Shimbashi main station which we appreciated during our last trip which meant we needed to change a few subway lines but it was still located in the nice Ginza area. The hotel entrance is located off a main street and has a small local grocery shop with fruit and veg across it. There is a big 7 Eleven located nearby and nearby restaurants and cafés too.

The hotel is very family friendly with kid books and games and toys available for hire during your stay as well as appliances etc.

We visited in January so the lobby had these cute New Year kids activities to do.

We booked an bedroom apartment with 4 single beds as per photo and plan below.

The room had a seating table with 2 benches (4 seats total) which we moved around to fit our suitcases. The room also included a little kitchenette and fridge similarly to other Mimaru hotels. The room had a smart tv, aircon and air purifier.

The bathroom had a single sink outside and bath with standing shower next to it as a wet room.

On the ground floor, the hotel had toilets, a vending machine, smoking room and a laundromat with 3 washing machines and 3 dryers. ¥400 for a wash and ¥100 for a drying cycle. You may need to add more coins depending on wash load. There is a little machine in the laundromat where you can convert a ¥1,000 bill into ¥100 coins for the washing machines and dryer.

The Mimaru Tokyo Ginza East hotel had the following optional service fees as well as luggage delivery options.

We quite enjoyed our stay at the Mimaru Tokyo Ginza East and the proximity to Ginza, the station, restaurants and convenient stores. The apartment was nice and the staff were very friendly and kind with our needs.

As mentioned before, while it was a great hotel to stay in, it wasn’t located right next to the Shimbashi main station which we appreciated during our last trip which meant we needed to change a few subway lines but it was still located in the Ginza area which was nice. One word of warning though, locate the lifts at the nearby station near the hotel to avoid carrying heavy suitcases up the stairs of doom as per below photo (which I took on a different day when we weren’t carrying heavy suitcases which almost killed me ha!).

This visit was self funded. To book your stay, head to this link.

Our tips:

  • Mimaru Tokyo Ginza East is located at 1 Chome-4-4 Shintomi, Chuo City, Tokyo 104-0041.

  • Locate lifts within the station. I do not recommend taking steps from doom with many heavy suitcases . See photo above.

  • Access the hotel is off a main street.

  • Check-in in most hotels in Japan is not before 3pm. The staff at the hotel were happy to keep suitcases before/after check-in at reception.
