#Sydney This week, Miss and I were very lucky to be invited to see @hamiltonaustralia at the @sydneylyrictheatre. What can I say? Hype warranted! I finally understand why this play has been loved for so many years. It was nothing short of amazing - we absolutely loved it! Miss really enjoyed it too, and she now appreciates the immense talent and hard work behind productions like these. She even said she liked Hamilton almost as much as &Juliet - both @michaelcasselgroup productions, so she clearly has great taste! I watched the American Hamilton production on Disney+ years ago, but seeing the Australian production live on stage, is next level! From the first moment you see the stage and see Callan Purcell as Aaron Burr, you know you're in for something spectacular. Hamilton is meticulously crafted from start to finish, keeping you wanting more even after the final bow. As Lin-Manuel Miranda (the creator of Hamilton) once said, musical theatre isn't just one art form - it's 14 art forms smashed together, and Hamilton certainly does it justice! We were lucky to have Sean Sinclair step in as Alexander Hamilton - he was flawless! Brent Hill as King George was quirky and hilarious. Gerard-Luke Malgas was eccentric as Marquis de Lafayette and had a fun alter ego as Thomas Jefferson. Googoorewon Knox nailed it as George Washington, keeping Hamilton in check. Vidya Makan’s performance as Eliza Hamilton was simply breathtaking in her solos. Miss particularly enjoyed seeing Indigo Hunt from the Ensemble, the whole team was amazing! The play is recommended for ages 8+, it contain some strong language, mild adult themes and gun use. It runs for almost 3 hours with a short intermission, so plan ahead or pick a matinee session if you’re bringing kids. Check the @sydneylyrictheatre website for parking options. This is apparently the last time Hamilton plays in Australia, so if you’ve been wanting to see it, don’t wait! I’m already thinking about going again before it ends in late November. So if you’ll excuse me, I’m off to browse for tickets or try my luck at the Hamilton lottery and listen to the soundtrack while sipping my tea in my new cup ha! #hosted #invited #hamiltonau
