This school holidays, join us for a workshop inspired by the art of Alphonse Mucha, which often features people wearing elaborate headpieces.
In this workshop, you’ll cut paper then fold, crease, tear and scrunch it to make decorative botanical shapes inspired by Mucha’s artworks, many of which incorporate flowers and other plants. Learn how to fold and use symmetry to create your designs and master your paper-cutting skills to design an elaborate headpiece.
One of art’s great stylistic innovators, Mucha created some of the most instantly recognisable and best-loved works in modern European art. Many of his designs include elements from nature, curving lines and asymmetry – all popular motifs in the art nouveau style.
Take part anytime between 11am and 3.30pm. Materials and instructions are provided. Suitable for all ages and abilities. Children under 12 must be supervised by an adult at all times.
