Pop-up Park, Highpoint Shopping Centre

We were lucky to have a sneak peek at the Highpoint Shopping Centre Pop-up Park this morning. The Pop-Up park was inspired by the Yarraville Pop-up Park and is a collaboration between design firm Aspect Studios and Highpoint Shopping Centre.

The result of this great collaboration is this chillout area where children and their carers can relax and enjoy a picnic, read a book, play some table tennis in the space or play with some soft play equipment (when scheduled).

The event shown this morning was Imagination Playground and will be the first event in the space. It is a free creative loose parts play experience for children aged 3 to 12 years old. Children and adults will be invited to unleash their creativity and imagination with the help of specialised Play Rangers from the Women’s Circus. The play equipment consists of enormous foam blocks which can be shaped into fortresses, cityscapes, etc. the options are endless!

Imagination Playground will take place this Friday 11th Dec from 10:30am to 11:30am, Wednesday 16th Dec from 10:30am to 11:30am, Friday 18th Dec from 10:30am to 11:30am, Wednesday 23rd Dec from 10:30am to 11:30am and Wednesday 30th Dec from 10:30am to 11:30am.

Other events also taking place in the Pop-Up Park space these holidays:

  • Book.Bike.Swap which is a free pop-up book swapping activity for children aged 0 to 10 years old which will be hosted by Tot:HotorNot on Sat 19th Dec, Sun 20th Dec, Tue 5th Jan and Wed 6th Jan 2016 from 10:30am to 1:30pm.
     
  • PORTable Summer Program which a series of fun free holiday workshops for children aged 6 to 12 years old which will be hosted by Footscray Community Arts Centre in late January 2016. (Details to be confirmed)

The Pop-Up Park is located at Level 1, Hoyts Entrance near the Pancake Parlour.
