Hunter Valley Gardens - Hunter Valley - Review
In July last year, after restrictions eased, we decided to head to the Hunter Valley for a break from being home due to covid and all. Although the Hunter Valley is full of wineries, there are still some great family spots and the Hunter Valley Gardens is certainly one of them!
The beautiful Hunter Valley Gardens located in the heart of Pokolbin is a gorgeous place to visit in Spring when flowers bloom or all year round as the gardens change with the seasons. The Hunter Valley Gardens are open 7 days a week except for Christmas Day and have special Christmas Lights Spectacular during the Christmas season which we hope to go one year. Mega Creatures are also taking over the Hunter Valley Gardens this Easter from the 27th March to 25th April 2021 where visitors can see all their favourite dinosaurs, dragons and creepy crawlies, including our giant T-Rex, Stegosaurus, Triceratops, Spinosaurus and more. We will be sure to check them out!
The gardens have so much variety on offer from its Rose Garden, Formal Garden, Indian Garden, Chinese Garden, Italian Grotto, the Storybook Garden and more! As you can see, there are lots of gardens to explore and enjoy. We mention a few more below.
In non-covid times, the school holidays means that amazing rides are open for the family to enjoy. When we went however the rides were closed due to existing restrictions but we can see that a few rides have since reopened since some restrictions have eased.
The kids loved the Storybook Garden which takes kids on a journey with over 15 traditional popular storybook characters. Kids can read timeless nursery tales, meet some characters and take photos with some of their favourite nursery rhyme characters.
Kids can join Humpty Dumpty, Jack and Jill as they tumble down the hill, Alice in Wonderland at the Mad Hatter’s Tea Party, Little Bo Peep and many more!
We also enjoyed the beautiful Oriental Garden, Border Garden and Sunken Garden with its waterfall as well as walking around the lake on the Lakes Wall path.
We had a really nice time visiting the Hunter Valley Gardens and the Hunter Valley. A beautiful break from the hustle and bustle of Sydney, highly recommended.
Busy City Kids were hosted by the Hunter Valley Gardens for the purposes of a review. Travel and accomodation were self funded. All opinions & feedback are genuine & truthful.
