Great Southern LEGO®️ Reef at the Australian National Maritime Museum - Review

The kids love anything LEGO®️ so a combination of LEGO®️ building and school holiday fun at the Australian National Maritime Museum with the Wonderwater program is always a winner!

Kids and adults can build some of the world’s rarest and most fascinating sea creatures in LEGO®️ bricks at the Great Southern LEGO®️ Reef event. The installation was created by the Great Southern Reef Foundation and the kids’ favourite LEGO®️ person Ryan “The Brickman” McNaught’s Brickman Team and is on until the 4th February 2024.

The kids and I enjoyed making a Blue Groper and yellow Kelp using the step by step displays while others enjoyed making a blue-ringed octopus, red handfish, striped pyjama squids and more! There are eight different creatures to choose from.

The ‘free play’ area was also popular and a great place to relax.

There is also a ‘free play’ LEGO®️ Duplo area at the front of the event for younger kids.

We loved looking at the shared reef in the middle of the room. There were some very cool and creative creations there!
