Mimaru Suites Tokyo Asakusa with Kids - Tokyo - Review
Before we entered the Disney bubble during our first Tokyo trip (which was towards the end of our Japan trip), we decided to stay at the gorgeous Mimaru Suites Tokyo Asakusa. We chose to stay this side of Tokyo as we were staying in Ginza on arrival in Tokyo to do the major sites. We did end up needing to go to Shibuya during our stay for last minute Pokemon store shopping so had to change train lines a few times to get there. As such, I would say this side of town is mostly convenient for Sensō-ji temple and nearby places.
Note: Photos and review from our visit in July 2023.
Our Two-Bedroom Suite at the Mimaru Suites Tokyo Asakusa was lovely and had two nice sized bedrooms with two twin beds in each which were very comfortable.
Bedroom 1 has an ensuite with shower. The suite also had a seperate toilet and a main bathroom with shower and bath close to the bedroom 2. Both wet rooms had great water pressure.
The suite had a really nice kitchen dining area with large table and tv and all the cooking appliances and utilities we needed as well as a washing machine/dryer! Each bedroom had an air-conditioner in each bedroom as well as the dining room/kitchen room which had a tv on a cabinet (not shown), a washing machine that also dries (read the instructions carefully as each load takes quite a bit of time being a front loader washing machine dryer) and there was also an air purifier in the kitchen area. There was also a coffee machine for our grounded coffee the staff gave us at front desk. The kitchen had pretty much anything you need for a short stay, it had a stove with exhaust fan, basic kitchen appliances such as kettle, toaster, microwave, utensils, plates and glasses etc as well as a good size apartment fridge freezer. The big table had storage which had a rice cooker and a standalone electric table griddle of sort.
You can grab toiletries as well as coffee & tea etc at reception. You can also rent family items such as shower seat, washbasin, step stool, toilet seat for kids, dishes for kids, cutlery set, plug covers, bed guards, baby bed or luggage rack - items are limited but check at the front desk between 7am and 10pm. You can also rent rice cookers, toasters, additional tableware, pajamas, blankets, non-feather pillows, non-feather duvets, etc. As well as irons, ironing boards, extension cords, adapter plugs, vacuum cleaners, umbrellas, nail clippers, thermometers, mobile phone charging cables, HDMI cables, luggage scales, etc. You can also rent cleaning supplies during your stay, ask the staff at the front desk too. They’ve really tried to think of everything they can do to help families and at the time they were trialing luggage transfer between Mimaru hotels - how cool! This hotel is also pet friendly and there are amenities in specific rooms and common corridors for dogs such as dog toilets etc, not that we needed it ha!
We quite enjoyed our stay at the Mimaru Suites Tokyo Asakusa and the proximity to the station, shops, restaurants, Sensō-ji Temple and convenient stores. We were very happy with our apartment and loved the comfy beds and the facilities available onsite. The staff were very family friendly and very responsive during our stay and they booked us this really nice van taxi to our Disney Hotel.
